NFC is the short-range technology also used for contactless payments. Here, the same gesture opens a link rather than making a payment.
Do I need to switch anything on?
On compatible iPhones and many modern phones, it usually works without changing settings. On some Android phones, you need to enable NFC in Settings, even on newer models.
You need an NFC-compatible phone and an internet connection to open the link.

Unlock your phone and hold the Tag near its NFC reader. Keep it there for a few seconds.

Tap the link or notification that appears on your phone’s screen.

Is your phone not detecting the Tag?
Turn on the screen and unlock your phone. Slowly bring the Tag close and hold it still for a few seconds. Try removing thick or metal cases.
iPhone: on compatible iPhone XS and later models, background reading does not require enabling NFC. Hold the Tag near the top of the phone. Close Camera and Wallet if open. Older models may need an NFC reader and not all are compatible.
Android: search for “NFC” in Settings and enable it if it is off. The antenna is usually on the back; its position depends on the model. If you cannot find NFC, check your phone’s specifications.
